What is Interlining?

Interlining is an additional layer of soft fabric that is placed between the curtain fabric and the lining.

Often described as having a soft, blanket-like feel, it adds extra body and fullness to curtains, giving them a more luxurious and substantial appearance. Because interlining sits inside the curtain rather than on the back, it helps the fabric hang beautifully and creates a richer, more elegant drape. This makes it a popular choice when you want curtains to look fuller and more premium.

Interlining also provides practical benefits. The extra layer helps improve insulation at the window by reducing heat loss and helping to keep rooms warmer during colder months. It can also add a small amount of sound dampening and help create a more comfortable environment in a child’s bedroom.
